FUNDING TO DATE

The City needs a total of $500M in state grant funds to be set aside before 2029 to fund the Final Plan projects.

For Fiscal Years 2025 and 2026, the Virginia General Assembly appropriated a total of $100 million in state grant funds to the City of Richmond in support of the design and construction of the Final Plan Projects.

The City of Richmond will make additional funding requests at future General Assembly sessions in the effort to complete the Final Plan Projects by 2035.

An investment in the CSO Program will provide benefits to all Virginians

Investing in the CSO Program benefits all Virginians by upgrading water infrastructure, improving environmental sustainability and public health. We need program funding from all of our partners along the James River.

Richmond is an environmental justice community with approximately 19% of residents living below the poverty level.

Significant grant funding is necessary to alleviate the burden on low-income ratepayers.
