FUNDING TO DATE

In response to Senate Bill 1064, the City applied for and received $150 million in American Rescue Plan grant funds between 2021 and 2022 to support the design and construction of the Interim and Final Plan Projects. ​

​In 2024, the Virginia General Assembly appropriated $50 million in state grant funds to support the design and construction of the Final Plan Projects. ​

OTHER FUNDING SOURCES

The City needs a total of $500M in state grant funds to be set aside in the CSO Matching fund before 2029 to fund the Final Plan projects​:

• For the 2025 GA Session, the City is requesting amending the $50 million approved in 2024 and requesting an additional $100 million, for a total of $150 million in FY25​

• The City will request another $150 million in FY26 in support of the Final Plan​

across the Commonwealth of Virginia

An investment in RVAH20 FLOW will provide benefits to all Virginians

Investing in RVAH2O FLOW benefits all Virginians by upgrading water infrastructure, improving environmental sustainability and public health. We need program funding from all of our partners along the James River.

Richmond is an environmental justice community with approximately 19% of residents living below the poverty level.

Significant grant funding is necessary to alleviate the burden on low-income ratepayers.
